Female Audiobook Narrator | Carrie Drovdlic

Smart storytelling.
Big feelings.
Plenty of voices.

Carrie Drovdlic brings a slightly textured natural voice, a three-octave range, musical instincts, and a genuine love of character-driven stories to every audiobook she narrates as Ellen A. Connor (and Carrie Drovdlic, of course).

She has narrated everything from character-driven fiction and middle grade adventures to memoirs and award-winning business nonfiction.

"...she delivers a mesmerizing performance, navigating voices and accents with ease."

How Carrie's Audiobook Narration Process Works

From the first conversation to the final master, I keep the process clear, collaborative, and thoughtful. Through extensive research, I shape my performance around the story, then handle the recording, editing, proofing, and mastering. My job is to make your job easy.

1
Send the Story

Send me the manuscript, sample pages, project timeline, character notes, pronunciation guides, and anything else that helps me understand the world of the book.

Still sorting through the details? That’s fine. Start with the story, the audience, and the feeling you want listeners to carry with them.

2
Find the Voice

I will dig into the tone, pacing, character relationships, and emotional shape of the book before recording begins.

That may include a custom audition, character samples, or a conversation about the narration style. My background in musical theater, character work, and long-form storytelling helps me build distinct voices that still belong in the same world.

3
Deliver the Audio

Once the direction is set, I typically handle the full production process.

I record, edit, proof, and master the audiobook using Adobe Audition and Pozotron. I have a particularly sharp ear for clean edits, consistency, pacing, and the tiny details that can pull a listener out of the story.

You receive polished, professionally produced audio that meets the agreed specifications and timeline.
